Useful Information

How fit do I have to be
Anyone who regularly cycles can enjoy a cycling holiday, although it helps if you do some pre-holiday preparation. For most people, who cycle regularly, around 40 miles per day is easily achievable. Most of our cycling holidays are between 35-48 miles per day more and there is time for sightseeing. Whatever your choice we would advise you to spend some time on a bicycle before the start of your holiday to make sure everything is as enjoyable as possible.

What sort of clothes do you recommend for cycling holidays
Wearing comfortable clothes will make your cycling holiday more enjoyable. This includes padded shorts or leggings, a waterproof jacket and shoes which grip the pedals are also useful. Fluorescent clothing is also recommended for bad weather conditions.

What will my accommodation be like
Accommodation is generally in comfortable 3 star hotels or on comfort class hotel barges. Holiday prices are based on accommodation in twin or double rooms. Single rooms are available on payment of a supplement subject to availability.

What is the accommodation like on a boat
All cabins will have twin-bedded or low-berth cabin low beds (not bunk beds). The cabins all have en-suite facilities. All cabins have limited storage space so bear this in mind when packing your luggage.

What meals are included
All our tours are offered with a Half Board meaning you can more easily fix the cost of your holiday. On a cycle and cruise holiday, all meals are provided to resident guests. Breakfast is a buffet-style meal. Packed lunches and evening meals are also provided on boat holidays. Requests for vegetarian food or special diets should be detailed on your booking form and will be passed on to the hotel restaurant concerned.

Parking at the start of your holiday
On most tours private parking can be arranged for a small cost.
