Champagne Villages and Cellars, Verzenay lighthouse!, Autumn Colours, half-timbered houses

Holiday Overview

Exploring the two main Champagne regions, Montagne de Reims, and the Cote de Blanc, cycling through the vines along canal paths and rural roads through small champagne producing villages, on the vineyard slopes, you will see the famous names of the champagne houses (e.g. Moet et Chandon) on plaques in front of the vines. There are lovely views over the surrounding countryside from theses slopes, and the autumn colours of the vines.

We will visit Epernay and the Avenue de Champagne where all the famous champagne houses are situated, Châlons en Champagne a charming town with half-timbered houses and cobbles streets, the lighthouse in Verzany situated at the top of the village it was built in 1909 by Joseph Goulet to promote his champagne, now a vine growing and wine making eco-museum and of course no trip to this area would be complete without tasting the Champagne.

Tandems and Electric Bikes (must have removable battery) welcome.
